đź“ż Philosophy Night: "The Wasteland" by T.S. Eliot w/ Anil

Wednesday, May 1st

Anil will be leading our session (unless some good news happens!) – in which case Olivia will sub. We will read together "The Wasteland" by T.S. Eliot, each person reading one stanza. It will take about 30 minutes. The Nobel Prize winning poem was written in 1922, mid-world wars – and has a lot of roots in the late 1800s mysticism that gave rise to modern exploration of yoga. The last line of the poem is “shantih shantih shantih”/ “peace peace peace” a yogic Vedic mantra — it was a time when people were searching, similar perhaps to our time today. You can access the poem here: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/articles/158847/ts-eliot-the-waste-land Philosophy night is free to join. Welcome to bring your favorite instruments and food to share. Each night is led by a different volunteer. Join our WhatsApp group to stay updated. Check weekly to see what the new topics are! *Livestream available on request, if you're traveling and would like to tune in, let us know!
