Due to some Mercury Retrograde shenanigans... Olivia will be in Falls Church City (and not Cleveland!) during the solar eclipse. As a bit of a solar eclipse junkie, she wants to invite the Karma Yoga community and anyone who doesn't already have plans to join her at Cherry Hill Park to view the eclipse! Eclipse will reach 89% coverage at 3:20pm. The eclipse begins at 2:04pm and concludes by 4:30pm. Please arrive early since traffic and emotions may be heightened! Give yourself plenty of time. Viewing Safety: * Please bring your own glasses with ISO 12312-2 rating. If you have extra, please bring extra to share for those who might not have glasses! * Glasses do expire after about 10 years, so glasses from the last eclipse in 2017 is okay, but not the one before. Parking, Location & Preparation: * You may park in the Cherry Hill Parking Lot or nearby Public City Parking. * Please bring some food, snacks or drinks to share * Please bring picnic blankets & layers, hat, sunblock, etc. * There will be lots of shade under trees and large, open sky as well * Weather is expected to be sunny, partly cloudy with a breeze and 65F * There are charcoal grill grates so welcome to bring some charcoal and fire up the grill if you're handy that way! *There might be some unofficial yoga, since we're yogis after all, so bring some comfortable clothing!
