🇪🇸 5-Night Retreat to Spain: Valencia by the Sea

Join Olivia and Alison and your favorite yogis by the sea. Over six days we'll delve deep into relaxation, restoration and exploration. We'll stay in one location, so we'll have plenty of time to relax & enjoy the beautiful venue and seaside, as well as explore the old city of Valencia & hike Chulilla Canyon.

Meet Olivia Jeffers

Olivia views yoga and life as a sweet play between power and surrender. She blends powerful, energetic flows with postures for surrender and deep release. Olivia helps students find their edge, hold their core and rest deeply. Core work is threaded throughout to foster a deep sense of inner integrity and integration. With a focus on mind practice, Olivia has sat two 10-day Vipassana meditation retreats in the Goenka style. Olivia knows that mindfulness practice coupled with physical asana can take us deep into the complexity of our spirit, and focuses on nurturing and guiding students on their journeys inward (learn more and practice with Olivia!)

Alison Hight is an experienced and passionate yoga teacher deeply immersed in the intuitive and spiritual dimensions of the practice. As a spiritual pilgrim Alison explored spiritual centers across the world, eventually finding herself studying at an ashram where she was initiated into a Vaishnav lineage in her twenties. Her extensive training includes a 200-hour certification, expertise as an integrative breathworker, shamanic dream worker, and expressive arts teacher. Alison has delved into advanced coursework in pranayama, ayurveda, tantra, and trauma-informed teaching (learn more!)

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive to Valencia airport and shuttle over to the retreat center. We'll have light snacks available and give you time to settle in for our light yoga session, to stretch and move after the long flights. During dinner, we'll get to know each other and officially begin our retreat!

Day 2: We'll have an energizing yoga class at 8:30am, followed by brunch at 10am. Feel free to explore, walk the beach, relax, journal or exercise. We'll have a two-hour yoga workshop focused on yin yoga and restorative yoga, followed by dinner at 7:15pm.

Day 3: We'll have an energizing yoga class at 8:30am, followed by brunch at 10am, followed by an excursion to the Old City of Valencia with a 2-hour guided walking tour. After lunch we'll have free time to explore in groups, with options to explore the Science Museum.

Day 4: We'll have a chill day with lots of free time. We'll have an energizing yoga class at 8:30am, followed by brunch at 10am. Feel free to explore, relax, journal or exercise. We'll have a two-hour yoga workshop focused on pranayama, followed by dinner at 7:15pm.

Day 5: Light breakfast is at 8am, followed by a full day trek through the Chulilla Canyon Trail, winding over rope bridges and exploring prehistoric rock paintings before heading down to Chulilla Castle. We'll return for some time rest, followed by our final afternoon flow and closing dinner at 7:15pm.

Day 6: We'll have brunch and our closing circle together, before shuttling over to Valencia Airport for our next adventures!

  • If you would like to see a Flamenco show, we recommend staying an additional night in Valencia to enjoy a night on the town with dinner and a show, which would begin around 9pm.
  • Our retreat ends on Friday morning, so you could safely stay one more night and return to the U.S. by Sunday. If you are interested in possibly traveling with others from the group, we'll have everyone together in a WhatsApp group and you can message to see if others are interested!

Our retreat center is located 1 kilometer from the beach on the road near a small rural seaside town, outside of Valencia City. Practice yoga in the large shala with natural light and high ceilings.

This area captures attention with it’s soft sand beaches the charming old town in Valencia City. From the historically rich city center with quaint Medieval Era streets to the impressively modern City of Arts and Sciences with the largest Aquarium in Europe, a visitor to Valencia City is dazzled by the variety of attractions.

Take pleasure in the open spaces and quiet spots at our retreat center hotel to lounge in the garden patios, or take a plunge in the dipping pool after spending time at the beach. Treat yourself to a massage, or book time to unwind in the on-site spa with a jacuzzi and dry sauna. Rooms have ensuite bathrooms, air conditioners and heaters and there is wifi in central lounge area of the retreat center hotel.
