Semedrian Smith, E-RYT-200, is a vinyasa and power yoga teacher in the DMV area. Semedrian's yoga journey started as a recommended solution to help ease her back pain after an athletic-related spinal injury over a decade ago. Her yoga journey has taught her to believe in the power of yoga to heal our mind and physical bodies, finding herself on the mat to find calm in chaos or the answers she would need for life's challenges.
Semedrian's guidance expresses her own intrinsic journey, synthesizing intuitive movement, breath, and shapes to tell a story. She believes in honoring each student's yoga journey by holding space that is inclusive and accessible to encourage curiosity and self-discovery. Her classes balance introspection and physical strength, are multi-sensory and multi-layered, and are curated to tap into and empower the full expression of our authentic selves.
Semedrian's teaching is driven by a deep sense of compassion and intention. She strives to empower her students, helping them to cultivate authenticity, resilience, and confidence. Her goal is to equip her students with the tools they need to achieve their goals and make a positive impact on the world around them.
Always curious, various yoga schools influence Semedrian's teaching style, including Ashtanga, Hatha, Yin, Bikram, and Kemetic Yoga, in addition to a regular meditation practice. Semedrian received her teaching training with Mimi Rieger, DC. Beyond yoga, she also enjoys golf, running, and barre.
She originally hails from a small town in the Midwest and loves to read, throw themed dinner parties, and the ocean.
